I’ve loved travelling since I went to China in the early 1980s. After I learnt to cycle in 2005 (late starter, but enthusiastic) I began to enjoy cycle touring. In order to cycle the length of Vietnam with a dear friend for her 50th birthday, I had to conquer my fear and get pedalling. Since then I have cycled in many parts of Australia, and in New Zealand, South Africa, Sardinia, Croatia, Netherlands, France, Germany and Austria.
Hiking, bushwalking and other adventures like kayaking and camping are also on my agenda, and I recently completed the Inka trail to Macchu Picchu, the highlight of a wonderful trip to Peru.
I decided to start a blog after enjoying Richard Tulloch’s posts for some months. I can’t hope to emulate his erudition, fascinating stories and great photographs, but I wanted an outlet that wasn’t Facebook, so here goes.
